Hearing the new Jessie Ware release left me speechless the other night. After Julio Bashmore (the original producer) posted the video on facebook,  I found myself with stuck with a load of unanswered questions. You see, I couldn’t quite put my finger on what exactly the Brixton girl has (or combination of things she has) that makes her quite so special, and still can’t. This intrique bordered on obsession for a while and led me to watch the video on repeat for about an hour. It was a good hour.

Based on the few tracks I’ve heard so far (and I’m going to try and not generalise here), I’d say that she’s a mixture between Sade and Katy B in her style – comparisons I’m sure she has heard already; but then there is something additional to her, which as I have said, I havn’t quite conluded what yet. She has already featured on tracks with SBTRKT and Sampha (another excellent track, which you can stream below), which suggests that her voice is as fantastic as it is versatile, whether it be harmonising over dubby house beat or crooning over an 80’s style ballad.

Anyway, this brilliant Disclosure remix just dropped on Annie Mac’s show a couple of hours ago.

To be honest, all three tracks are brilliant.

Jessie Ware – Running (Original)
