We first introduced Dutch producer Booddha a couple of weeks ago with his track “Bellybutton Boogie” (read here), and also mentioned that he would be releasing his debut EP at the end of January on start-up label Vresh. The good news is that today is that day, and the even better news that it’s available for free. “She Was Lost” is six tracks of minimal dubstep and future garage, with the upbeat opener “Fatfish” and pulsating synth on “Nowhere But There” complimenting the low-slung vibe of  “All The Same 2.0”, “Maybe You Should” and “Mess (ft. Ivory)” perfectly. The final and title track “She Was Lost” is a truly brilliant Burial-esque dubstep jam, and is the stand-out for me. One of the things that strikes me most about this EP is that the quality of production and variation of sounds give the impression of a much older and more experienced producer, and just shows the work that Booddha puts into his music. Cracking debut, stream and download below.

Booddha (aka Niels van der Donk) hails from Amsterdam, and creates the kind of minimal-house inflected dubstep that’s been pushing it’s way to the forefront of the bass music scene, especially in the UK and Europe. Taking influence from some of our favourite acts such as Gold Panda, Sepalcure, Joy Orbison, SBTRKT and Zomby, his latest effort comes in the form of superb future-garage jam “Bellybutton Boogie”. It contrasts nicely with his earlier work, such as the brilliant title track from his upcoming EP “She Was Lost”, which is darker and more akin to the sound of Burial. The 5-track EP will be released for free at the end of January on his own label, Vresh, and snippets of the tracks are available on his soundcloud. Vresh also runs as a music blog and is well worth checking out. We’ll keep you updated on when the release is available, but for now enjoy these…

Treehouse” is an incredible track from mysterious producer Ifan Dafydd that’s been knocking around for a while as a demo version/radio rip, but the good news is it will be released on vinyl on January 30th through Push & Run. Below is the original demo track, plus a preview of the remastered version, alongside A-side “To Me”, which is also so good. Sorry this is a few days late just never got round to posting it, enjoy!
